According to Reg Hardware, Lucas Arts will be debuting it’s lightsaber Wii peripheral for the upcoming Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga title at the GameCity festival in the UK.

The festival takes place October 24th through October 28, but the Star Wars demo will only happen on one day, the 26th.

Star Wars fans have waited a long time for a game that would virtually let them wield the beloved weapon, and soon they will have their chance. The lightsaber should lend itself to the Wii controls quite nicely, although I haven’t seen what the peripheral looks like. If it is actually as long as a lightsaber, i could see gameplay becoming quite annoying in the average-sized living room.

It is a good concept though; I’ll say that much.

The game is due to be released in the Spring.
